Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness is your muscles behaving like grumpy and tired teenagers.

So you went to train while your muscles were tired and grumpy because of lack of sleep and too much junk food. It was that kind of a week! You train like a HERO, after all you have to make amends. Meanwhile the tired and grumpy teens, are getting stretched and pounded, get GRUMPIER!

What do you think happens next?

The teens will start to complain incessantly. They make you regret the Heroic training every moment of the day. Walking a few steps or bending down to pick up a fallen pen, is going to accompanied by complaining muscles. You may have lived it up while training, but you will now struggle to live it down.

DOMS happens typically 24–72 hours after an intense training session and it usually means player/athletes are not recovering properly or haven’t done proper cool down. If you are experiencing soreness, just look back to the previous days and analyze the quality of your sleep, eating or if there any external Stressors impacting you mentally.

There are some situations when soreness of the muscles is to be expected. Example, if you are starting to train after a long break. In such situations trainers increase the intensity gradually. The trainers get worried about soreness only when it happens in an out of the ordinary situation.
